Summary-

We are looking for an experienced Steel Sales Representative to cover a specified territory of the United States of America. The actual territory could be defined by the qualified candidate based on knowledge of the area. Knowledge of high carbon and low carbon strip steel is a plus.

Essential Duties-

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business directories and other sources
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by telephone
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
• Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedule and discount rates
• Analyze and control expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements
• Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales
• Participates in marketing and advertising program as requested
• Performs customer calls regarding customer problems and follow-up when necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Skills Required-

• Possess basic PC skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using a CRM is a plus
• Excellent organization and planning skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Identification and development of new opportunities
