How You Will Make an Impact

Key Responsibilities (Work From Home)
As a Remote Planned Giving Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:
Donor Relationship Management
- Establish, manage, and grow relationships with an active portfolio of approximately 45–55 donors and prospects.
- Build strong, donor-centric, long-term relationships that align donor interests with EWTN’s mission and funding priorities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for planned giving donors in your assigned West Coast territory.
Planned Giving Strategy & Execution
- Research, qualify, and assess donor prospects to identify planned and lifetime giving opportunities.
- Develop and execute short-term and long-range fundraising strategies tailored to individual donors.
- Solicit charitable contributions to increase philanthropic support through a variety of planned giving vehicles.
Gift Planning & Technical Expertise
- Provide expert guidance on planned giving options, including:
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Donor-Advised Funds
- Bequests and Beneficiary Designations
- Life Insurance Policies
- Endowments
- Real Property and Non-Cash Assets
- Retained Life Estates
- Prepare and review documentation related to planned and deferred gift opportunities.
- Offer general tax and estate planning insights to support donor decision-making (not legal advice).
Documentation & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date donor records in the CRM system.
- Document donor interactions, contact reports, and engagement outcomes consistently.
- Draft and customize donor correspondence, proposals, and planned giving materials.
- Create detailed gift illustrations using Crescendo gift illustration software.
Travel & Representation
- Travel within your assigned territory to meet donors as needed.
- Participate in periodic regional and national travel (approximately 40–50%).
- Represent EWTN at donor meetings, events, conferences, and organizational functions.
Who We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional fundraising experience within a nonprofit organization.
- Extensive experience in planned giving programs and donor cultivation.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding fundraising goals and metrics.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic solicitation plans.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter in a fully remote environment.
- Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of the Catholic faith, EWTN’s mission, and established connections within the Catholic donor community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as:
- CAP (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy)
- CFP (Certified Financial Planner)
- CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive)
- FCEP (Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning)
These credentials are preferred but not required.
