Head of Product Marketing (Remote, USA) JOB-ID-1181

Job Description

At Fathom, we believe meetings should be a source of clarity, connection, and momentum—not distraction and burnout. In today’s remote-first world, meetings often come with hidden costs: frantic note-taking, forgotten action items, unclear decisions, and hours of manual follow-up. That’s time people should be spending on strategic thinking, collaboration, and meaningful work.

Fathom was built to remove the unnecessary overhead from meetings. Our AI-powered meeting assistant automatically records, summarizes, and organizes key moments from your calls, allowing teams to stay fully present without losing context. From instant, searchable call summaries to seamless CRM updates and easy sharing across teams, Fathom transforms meetings into a powerful driver of alignment and execution.

And users genuinely love it.

Why You Should Join Fathom

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth, product-led SaaS company at a pivotal moment.

Strong Product-Market Fit

Our users are our biggest advocates. Growth is driven primarily through product-led growth (PLG), meaning the product sells itself through real value and user delight.

Build From Zero to One

As our first Head of Product Marketing, you won’t inherit a rigid playbook. You’ll define the role, build the foundation, and scale product marketing from the ground up.

Immediate, Visible Impact

Your work will directly shape how Fathom is positioned, launched, and adopted across the funnel. This is not a “small piece of a big machine” role—your decisions will matter every day.

Work at the Forefront of AI

We actively embrace the rapidly evolving AI landscape—both in how we build our product and how we work internally.

Remote & Async-First Culture

We value deep work, trust, and autonomy. You’ll have the flexibility to own your craft without micromanagement.

About the Role

Fathom is hiring a Head of Product Marketing (Remote) to serve as our first official Product Marketing Manager (PMM). In this role, you’ll build and own the entire product marketing function—defining how we position the product, launch new features, and drive activation, adoption, and expansion across our customer base.

You’ll report directly to the VP of Marketing and collaborate closely with our CEO and founding team, playing a critical role in shaping our go-to-market strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys building systems from scratch, and loves working at the intersection of product, marketing, and customer insight.

What You’ll Do

As Head of Product Marketing, you will:

Own Product Positioning & Messaging

  • Craft and continuously refine clear, compelling positioning across audiences, use cases, and customer segments
  • Translate complex AI and technical capabilities into simple, value-driven messaging

Lead High-Impact Product Launches

  • Plan and execute feature launches that connect real customer problems to meaningful solutions
  • Ensure launches are coordinated across marketing, product, sales, and customer success

Drive Activation & Expansion

  • Partner with Growth and Lifecycle teams to support activation, retention, and expansion initiatives
  • Help generate and scale product-qualified leads (PQLs) through strong messaging and education

Fuel the Product-Led Growth Engine

  • Create content, messaging frameworks, and enablement materials that support self-serve users, sales-assisted motion, and customer success
  • Ensure consistent messaging across website, onboarding, emails, and in-product experiences

Build Competitive & Market Intelligence

  • Analyze competitors, alternatives, and market trends
  • Turn insights into sharp, differentiated narratives that strengthen Fathom’s market position

Influence Product Strategy

  • Conduct user interviews, customer research, and market analysis
  • Bring customer insight into roadmap discussions and product decisions

Establish Product Marketing as a Function

  • Build scalable processes, documentation, and best practices
  • Position product marketing as a strategic pillar within the company

About You

You’re a strategic thinker who’s not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You combine strong storytelling skills with analytical thinking and a bias toward action.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in B2B SaaS
  • Experience working in product-led growth (PLG) environments
  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Data, and Growth teams
  • Comfortable owning projects end-to-end with minimal oversight

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience building or scaling early-stage teams
  • A customer-first mindset grounded in real user research
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
  • Resourceful, scrappy, and comfortable moving fast in ambiguous environments
  • Strong ownership mentality and accountability for results

Our Hiring Process

We aim to keep our hiring process transparent, thoughtful, and efficient.

  1. Intro conversation with our VP of Marketing
  2. Conversations with several cross-functional team members so you can understand how we work together
  3. A short reflection exercise on Fathom’s current positioning and messaging—we genuinely value honest, constructive feedback
  4. Final discussions and decision

We believe in open communication, so you’re encouraged to ask questions about expectations, success metrics, team dynamics, and growth opportunities.

⏱️ The full process typically takes 2–3 weeks from start to finish.
